There’s a true story in my hometown, it just happen recently, about an old man, he is a farmer. Nowadays is a harvest time, farmers are about to collect rice from their field, the same goes with the old man. So he came down to his field, after crop his rice, he was going to put the rice into the sack, it should be about 50 sacks of rice then the big rain came causing flood and the flood take everything he had until nothing left, so all his harvest was gone. Can you imagine? After what he had done for couple months, he loses everything in one second. He was in deeply sorrow and confines himself in his room. When I heard this story, I was feeling sad too. I can only pray and hopes he can move on from his sorrow and never give up to do his job.
This story remind me a song called ‘Anyway’ sang by Martina McBride but I love the version of Kristy Lee Cook while she was performance in American Idol, it was the first time I heard the song and it’s touching me. “You can spend your whole life building something from nothing, One storm can come and blow it all away, Build it anyway. You can chase a dream that seems so out of reach and you know it might not ever come your way, Dream it anyway. God is great, but sometimes life ain't good and when I pray it doesn't always turn out like I think it should, but I do it anyway, I do it anyway. This world's gone crazy and it's hard to believe that tomorrow will be better than today, Believe it anyway. You can love someone with all your heart, for all the right reasons and in a moment they can choose to walk away, Love 'em anyway. You can pour your soul out singing a song you believe in that tomorrow they'll forget you ever sang, Sing it anyway. I sing, I dream, I love, Anyway”
Same way when I read about Kompetiblog 2011 in twitter, it is the third time I register to this competition, no matter win or not, I do it anyway, I just want to write, I write anyway ☺
Kompetiblog’s theme this year is "Belanda Masuk Dalam 10 Negara Terbaik Di Dunia Dalam Berbagai Macam Hal, Apa Pendapatmu?" hmmmm I was wondering, how Holland builds their education system until they get a good international reputation. For a small country like Holland, internationalization has always been important. Holland has been known as a trading nation for many centuries. Many large international companies such as Philips, Shell, Unilever, and Heineken originate from the Netherlands. It is common knowledge that internationalization is tremendous importance to science, technology and business. Increasing number of scientists and engineers are collaborating on a global scale whilst industry continues to thrive on the basis on international trade and alliances. So I believe that it not easy for Holland to become 10 countries of the world’s best in education, I am pretty sure that they build the education system with hard work that’s why many people from around the world interesting to get their degree in Holland, so do I. That’s why I finally decided to become a civil servant in my hometown, leaving all my comfort zone in Jakarta to chasing my dream which is to get the scholarship for my master degree in Holland, well it is my dream and I hope the dream come true. I will fight for it. Just DREAM and have a little FAITH!
